I once got really ill from re-heating rice a couple of years ago – will never do that again!

It took about 2 hours to kick in and i was retching until the early hours.

Felt really ill all weekend and couldn’t eat anything – lost half a stone in weight over that weekend if i remember correctly and looked like shit come monday morning.

Dont do it – worst i have ever felt!

I dont think the ipad camera is as good as the iphones cam.

I may be wrong but i’m sure ipad 3 & 4 have 5mp cameras whereas the iphone 4s and 5 have an 8mp camera

Ipad 2 cam was only .92mp iirc

Besides i agree with earlier post – you look a nob taking pics with an ipad – but if that doesnt bother you…

I googled and found this for you

This is called The Building Song…

    “All over the world, everywhere,
    Where the sun shines,
and where the white snow gleams,
    through the green green forests,
    and by the streams,
hands are busy, plans are laid,
    and slowly, slowly,
    somewhere, somebody’s house is made.
    Everybody’s building…….”
That’s the first of a few verses.

Just so happens i am having lots of problems with my livebox too.

Dropped connections – livebox needs rebooting constantly.

Speed dropped from 7mbps down to 1mbps and then miraculously it went back up to 6mbps when i said i was going to leave.

Still having to mess with the router and my iphone is having trouble connecting.

That said the wireless signal is strong but it just wont allow connection to the internet sometimes.

This service really has gone down the pan

Orange where taken over by EE i believe in the summer and i am pretty certain that the 2nd line option was discontinued in September

Time i found a new isp – orange really are a load of bxxlocks!

    Now…..who to choose?

As above – 29er wheels are 700c and will replace 26″ mtb wheels but you will have to use a thinner tyre (probably)

I have 29er wheels on my lavadome with 40mm tyres on it and discs and no problems.

    Thanks for the replies chaps

I have already removed his cassette and it is a freehub.

It was locked both ways initially but when we got it moving it now spins both ways –

Think i might get him to order the new one as per the link.

Re his rims – i did point it out to him that there was a bit of a ridge on the braking surfaces, but he has had it a long time and covered many miles including lejog.

I think its lasted very well and deserves a bit of tlc

Just noticed this post – but i did exactly this with my lavadome – thread linky below

29er halo wheels and white bros carbon 26″ forks

At the time i had 700×28 tyres fitted but have recently put on 700×40’s just for a change – no issues at all.

    Rides really well

Its ok.. he wanted the advice of sailers (people who find cheap stuff at cut prices) not sailors.

    *Pedant Fail* 😆

Oh the irony! – that doesn’t quite work does it?
In the context above, the word is spelt “sale” not “sail”

    Thanks chaps

Didn’t think there was any difference in them.
Stupid hype, making me read things into it that don’t exist.

I will consider myself a dong for asking the question ……. for today only mind.

This was done at triple s

Satin black – really nice, smooth, tough finish

Seems to holding up very well to scratches and chips etc

Sorry the pics aren’t closer to show the finish properly.

    Think this was £55-£60

I’ve also wanted one of these for years – but again always felt it had to be an original.

Have been looking at them again recently and the Milan Direct versions are very nice.

    Watching this thread with interest.

    what he said

Plus – isn’t the milk itself an emulsion?

    Taken from wikipedia
An emulsion is a mixture of two or more liquids that are normally immiscible (un-blendable).

    Water and milk unblendable?

You have obviously watched the guy martin vid on tea – does putting milk in first make it an emulsion? i’m not sure it does – but it does always end up too milky

    Milk last for me

Thanks for not commenting on the fence 🙂

The frame is a 2004/5 lavadome – which i think is the only year it came with the sliding dropouts like the explosif and unit.

Its an 18inch frame for normal 26″ wheels but obviously the 29er (700c) wheels fit with lots of clearance if using skinny tyres.

The forks are also 26″ wheel specific

@luminous – would love to see some pics of the uncle john flat bar ride

The pretty coloured rotor bolts were off the bay – just checked and the seller no longer has them but there are others on there.

@rocketdog – you are right. Posting a half baked bike is not on. I beg forgiveness and will of course spank myself until all thoughts of going off at half-cock are banished for good.

I have had a nagging back for about the last 12 years.
Sometimes my back would go and it was so painful to the point where i couldnt walk for a day or 2.

Just had my very first visit to a chiropractor last week for an assessment and some treatment.

He found out exactly what the problem was and even after one session it felt so much better.
I am booked in to have 4 sessions over the next 2 weeks but i’m feeling really optimistic about it.

I had restricted movement in my facet joints (think thats what he called them) which was restricting movement in my right leg.

He cracked my spine (which sounds awful) and stretched my muscles but i immediately had 50% more movement there than previously.

After my second visit yesterday the movement in my right leg is now almost equal to the left. Another 2 sessions and to go and then i will see him maybe every 4 months

Go see a chiro – well worth it

Really loving some of the cars here

Always amazes me that the old 2cv’s pop up on these threads
I’ve owned 3 2cv’s and 2 dyanes which to me are a much better car.

I’ve always loved air cooled engines

Here’s a picture of my old karmann Ghia – quite an early one being a 1957
    Sadly sold this.

    .
    .

My last classic was this 67 swb porsche 912 – it was a lovely old thing and i spent a lot of time getting her looking like this. Best thing was it was rhd too. Still wish i had it. What a fantastic shape and it still carries over into the modern 911’s

    .

    .

My plan was to sell the 912 and buy a citroen ds – i sold the 912 but then never got round to buying the ds 🙁

That was about 3 years ago now and i dont really feel the urge for an old car any more – except when the sun is shining and then i start to mull it over again 8)

Some really good taste in cars from the stw crowd 😀

The problems started with spotify not playing or taking a minute or 2 to start playing the track.

It seems to work during the day but come evening it wont play at all.

I did a google search and found other orange users having exactly the same problems.
Phoned orange and the tech guys claimed they didn’t know what spotify was 🙄

My broadband speed this evening is fine (7.8mbps) but spotify still not playing.

I’m fairly sure there’s something called “iphone explorer” that you can download and use to view all the folders on your phone

You’ll then be able to find the photos and copy them back to your desktop.
Delete those on the phone and then do a proper sync after placing the photos into a “iphone pictures” folder on your comp

Never done it but i assume it would work that way

A quick google should sort you out

You really should only ever sync your phone through itunes for it to be pain free

I bet the long winter nights fly by round at yours

Not according to the wife they dont 😀

it’s set in a poor area of Yorkshire, not exactly the fashion capital of Europe so maybe everything being “bang up to date” was not the look they were going for ?

Which is exactly where i was brought up and it just doesn’t seem right to me regardless of poor yorkshire not being bang up to date –

And the smiths song, I still listen to that now and its 28 years later. Good music last more than 3 or 4 months

The whole reason i noticed 88 was because of the trailer using What difference does it make.
That song is probably the tune that has had the biggest influence on my early music tastes since first seeing the boys do it on totp in 84.

I can still remember hearing that guitar for the very first time and every time i hear it now i am brought back to my living room aged 16 fixed to the tv –

I am still a huge smiths fan to this day (saw them live 3 times before they split) and still have every single they released on 12inch vinyl – all original pressings (plus some of the early 7’s because of the different B sides.)
It was because of the smiths i have gone on to form or join a few bands myself over the years.

Dont want to sound like a prat but music is a huge part of my life and i had to respond to the “music lasts more than 3 or 4 months” line.

You are so right – it does – that particular song has been with me 28 years too

This is probably the longest post i have ever made on this forum 🙂

    Off to bed now

Noticed a few discrepancies in this.

The clothes don’t look right at all for 1988 – look like 83/84
The trailer had “what difference does it make” (the smiths) – which was actually released in 1984
There was a bmw e34 in it which i am sure was a 1990 model due to the wheels fitted – but there again i could be wrong – its happened before
