Agree with the above, waste of space, and that was before I burnt myself when the head I was using parted company with the hose just about where my hand was.

“winch & plummet’ Lol, a lot of people may kid themselves but at the end of the day they buy one because its an easier/ more fun option. Believe me when I say all the stuff you can do from your door is much more fun on an E-bike, you can do it faster, you can do it again & again or you can be lazy. Its up to you what you want one for but winch & plummet seems a poor excuse ;-)

Looked kind of cool but rode like shit, not may FS bikes look ‘right’, much easier with a HT.

    Slated, just a bit slated?
I opened the thread when there was only a couple of replies & it was only going one way, kudos for going with it, it was never going to end well.

Have a browse EMTB forums & ask on there, generally a very helpful bunch.

I can tell you that Maxxis WT measure up spot on with 35mm ID rim, make of that what you will, but I would of thought it may make them a fair amount rounder on your rims if you run pressure close to mine which are a little over mid 20’s.
    Cheers.

    Used to be this

    DSC_0009<script async src=”//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js” charset=”utf-8″></script>
    Sometimes this

    DSC_0010<script async src=”//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js” charset=”utf-8″></script>

But usually I look at a nice oil.

I know it’s a bit naff to do this but if anyone is interested in a “Delonghi ESAM4500 Fully Automatic Bean to Cup Machine Magnifica” then I’m about to put it on eBay, cost £700 a good while back but I hardly use it & never recently with milk so I’m getting a smaller pod based machine to free up worktop space, I can’t be arsed to post it so if anyone can collect it in either NW7 or AL5 postcodes then try me with a derisory offer (save me the listing fee on eBay at least ;-) )

The hurt locker was utter shit!

Really? I thought it quite groundbreaking for its time, 1917 is nothing new & a very week story.

I can’t be asred to read the whole tread tonight, but I have a 2.5 & 2.4 WT Maxxis tyres on 35 MM ID rims & they look & feel a hell of a lot different to old fat albert 2.35 on mavic D321’s, the modern one are almost twice the size.

The milk thing is really doing my head in, man finds mike(that would of been more interesting) milk on an abandoned & obliterated farm that is still fresh & then finds a random baby that needs it, totally ruined it for me (along with a good few other things).
Was the producer chasing The hurt locker? now that was a good film of its time.

Have you thought about a Tradition smuggler? I bought Matt’s (sofa kings) old Bandit & it’s def a fun bike for tamer trails.
PS how much did you get for the Cannondale?

    Mystery solved, it is an Azonic, it’s a DS1 MKIII 14″. I found the receipt & I paid £139.99 for it in 2007 :-)
I still can’t find a pic of the exact frame so they must be really rare & worth a small fortune ;-)

    Cheers.

I know the are not T handle but I love this set, they are so much better than the other 3 sets (inc Snap-on) that I have, sometimes the ball end fitting is not the greatest but once you have lessened the bolt a tad then they are just great.

If you fancy doing the rear wheel only for now then I was very interested in THIS until I couldn’t find normal QR caps for it, seems a real bargain to me.

These were the lightest I found for that sort of money, although I’m not willing to order them from china.HERE

    Or how about THESE

That would save you 300g for £120.

    Cheers.

I tried Drillum in the 90’s, it didn’t end well ;-) And besides this frame has already been repaired once.

Found the ‘missing bits’, you know I said it would be just under 20lbs, well

    Close right ;-)

I could of saved 70g using a 9spd chain, I have also ‘found’ some RC31’s that would save me another 70g but they’re 25mm shorter than the Exotic’s, I have also come across some old Formula SL brake with 140 & 160mm rotors that may save another 100-150g but I’m not going there ;-)
    Cheers.

I need to update my post above, it turns out the ‘UK company loved by singlespeeders’ delivered the parts yesterday but my kids took it in & failed to tell me even when asked, found it under the wife’s handbag in the hallway :-(

Thanks for the further contributions, the only changes I’m making are to change back to the Singular frame so I can go SS & the tyres which I’ve changed to 2.1 thunderburts which are not really a 2.1 more of a 1.9, but they saved 520g, it’s currently weighing in at just over 19lbs but lacking a sprocket & chain so should be just under 20lbs finished.
You are all right about the wheels, I weighted them without the tyres/sealent & cassette but with the rotors & QR’s, 1320g rear & 1000g front which shocked me a bit!
Oh & no dropper, I don’t even use it on my FS E-bike as I’m just used to getting my arse on the rear tyre with it at full height.
    Cheers.

For a laugh I’m building a SS, doubt I’ll use it much but it passes the time, I only stripped the bike down the other week to change the frame & now I’ve stripped it again to swap the frame back again, the aim is sub 20lbs (just).
    Original thread HERE.

    Cheers.

They have been fine for me in the past, but I found a company called Mantel.com (in the Netherlands) who were cheaper, I ordered a couple of tyres on Friday & they turned up today, postage was free via ups & the experience was spot on, I ordered a couple of bits from a UK company loved by singlespeeders on Thursday & they still hasn’t turned up :-(

To those that mention the brake levers, are you talking about the ones on the drops or bull horns?

I never got on with the original Turner Burner (well 2003 but you know what I mean), far to XC for me, the thing was I spent a shed load of cash to replace the Azonic propulsion that I bought because I couldn’t afford the Turner in the first place & it was a far better bike for me, I rode it until there was play in the frame where the seat stay bearings fitted, used a coke can to shim it & gave it to a mates son who still uses it, meanwhile the Turner resides in the loft ridden only a handful of times.
    Ho hum.

Maxxis tires are famously narrower that they claim so you’ll be fine on 30mm inner rims.

Just for the record my 2.5 & 2.4 WT tyres measure spot on with 35mm ID rims.
