  • Yurts or bunkhouse or similar for 6 guys, in the Lakes?!?

    Hi

After 2 weeks and numerous attempts at booking a yurt in Grizedale forest the guy with the booking book still hasn’t returned it to the guy who’s on the end of the website’s phone number and I was today informed that there’s no chance they’ll hire one out to a group of blokes anyway!

So, as such can anyone recommend a yurt / bunk house /barn (preferably cheap and basic) or something similar for a group of 6 guys in the Lakes?

I really don’t mind where abouts in the Lakes either.

    thanks

RRR, my mate owns Long Valley Yurts in Langdale. I know Richard and John, say Rick Harrison mentioned them.

Also,Simon Turner who runs the Yurts up near Keswick.

    All good guys.

And the bloke thing, thats standard… its the get pissed stag group filter… just explain when you call them what your up to.

ton, thanks – just looked and it’s booked out for when I need it.

Just spent the weekend at Hartsop fold on a stag do. Good log cabins.

Or I saw these yurts at Honister Pass which I heard good things about

And the stream there is great for Ghyll Scrambling!

In fact, the yurt I suggested is the one at Seatoller Farm as per rick’s link.

rickmeister – thanks for that. The yurts look rather nice and may be more than my mates are willing to pay but I’ll certainly look into it, thanks!

RRR, they are pretty good. All hand made by the guys that own them. Simon makes them out of green timber in the off season, sheeps fleece insulation, solid wood floors, wood burning stoves.. I could go on..

    They have Bell Tents too..

    Hope you get sorted.

Er I didn’t book so I’m not sure but we booked four of them with no problem AFAIK. I can ask specifically if you want.

Just in case anyone else is looking, we ended up booking a cabin at Hartsop Fold.

Highly recommended – great location, nice cabins, cheap too (about £50 each for 3 nights, based on 6)and we hardly noticed the other people on site..

    Thanks Clubber!

what about a YHA, I regularly use the one at Hawkshead and the one at Grasmere.

Manager at Grasmere is a mountain biker so the facilities are pretty good (lock up and repair stand etc) (Pridds on forum in my footer).

    cheers
