I listen to a load of electronic music…

I’ve always been blown away by the really early stuff –

Tontos Expanding Head Band – Zero Time 1971
Raymond Scott – Soothing Sounds For Baby (vol 1,2 and 3) 1963/4
Joe Meek and the Blue Men – I Hear A New World 1960
Pierre Henry, Michel Colombier- Messe pour le temps présent 1967

Vom Himmel Hoch from Kraftwerk deserves a special mention as well.

    ^ 🙂 🙂 Cowgirl/Rez

Like most here (I imagine), I first became aware of Underworld because Trainspotting lager lager lager blager. Was initially cold towards them (still can’t hack that song’). Wasn’t until 1999/2000 (shit is it that late already?) that a friend handed me a mix CD that I really dipped in and became FOREVER SMITTEN. The last EP in the riverrun series (I’m A Big Sister…’) is probably worth a mention, it features some ambient/introspective pieces and glides along beautifully.

Notice they’re doing Glasto this year? (Imagines Underworld collaboration with Jeff Lynne/ELO (omgomgomgtrippinballllsss!)

    Some standouts in those lists

plaid, ulrich snauas, boards of Canada,

Can’t believe someone said Faithless. That’s like chucking a late 80s Phil Collins album into a discussion on heavy metal drum solos.

    Baxter – Baxter
