I just wanted to ask the collective what the thoughts are on changing cranks, i.e.

On my ‘all mountain’ do it all trail bike I have some of the older Saint M800 cranks with double ring and bash. Now I was wondering what do you gain from changing to say SLX or XT cranks? Would I gain much in weight loss or lose stiffness?

I would have thought NO.

Remember, one ounce is the equivalent of half a malteeser.

Just wait till you break them, then upgrade.

Or go 1×10, or 1×9 and ditch the need for a front mech, extra ring.
