    I need to knock up a web site. Any recommendations for hosting companies?

    It will be fairly basic, just a few info and picture pages with possibly somewhere for comments to be posted or online surveys.

    Oh, and what free software to develop it?

    Don’t most ISP’s give you a some free space? Probably worth looking at what you’re already paying for.

    As for free software, no idea, sorry.

    WordPress. It’s free so long as you remain on their domain. Some limited functionality though – much better to pay say £5/month, get your own domain and use a proper WP theme with more scope. But you might find the free version fine for your needs …

    Depends what URL you’re looking for, if youre looking for a TLD very few (if any) will host and register for free. If you have a PC running 24/7 you could host it yourself, I do.
