Scrambled eggs on toast (white with real butter) a thing of beauty

Low and slow hickory smoked spicy St louis style ribs with BBQ sauce. All made by my fair hands.

Chippy tea followed by homebrew Belgian Diablo beer, yum.

Macaroni cheese. Comfort food of the gods.

Another one having scrambled eggs, not sure if toast will be included.

Brace of pheasant in the oven.

Just going to have some veggie with them.

Vegetable samba mossallah (takeaway) and guinness for afters.
Birthday treat from the love of my life.
Up early, up hill, down hill with added mud.

Will be a carpet picnic of some sort, when the girls get home.

Big gammon joint, done in coke and cider, leeks in white sauce. Nearly ready, gotta go open some cider.

Tonight is “proper” Christmas in our house following the Central / East European tradition. So we will be having:

Salt herring. Beetroot. Other kind of herring. Beetroot done a different way. Biscuit things in poppy seed milk. Rye bread.

It’s probably the healthiest meal I have over the holidays.

Some tasty burgers with sweet potato wedges and alcohol poisoning.

Butternut Squash risotto with plenty of herbs and spices.

Scratchings,beer, prosecco & winter spice ribena,roast veg & turkey. But then we’re not exactly having a traditional Christmas dinner

Out for Italian with the in-laws.

Probably go for a seafood starter and then whatever mains aren’t pasta or pizza (they do a really good sea bass dish).

Thursday is toast night.

Curry here though. I’ll just have another brandy while I wait for it.

As the Old Bridge Inn is closed due to flooding we’ll be topping up at the all-you-can eat pizza/pasta buffet at La Taverna!

I’m not taking culinary direction from a man that pairs curry with brandy!

Garlic mushrooms
Red wine.

Nahh … pork … Perhaps lamb then coley but not all at once.

I don’t believe in eating maggots or insects as I do not want to compete with other animals for food source.

What’s with the trendy people trying to eat insects … 🙄

Smoked haddock risotto and Westvelteren 12. The Westy is my traditional Christmas eve treat to myself. Would normally make something more extravagant for dinner but we’ve a 6 week old (plus toddler) so keeping things as easy and low key as possible this year.

Sirloin steak, herby potatoes and sauteed mushroom and onion. washed down with a nice rioja
