While we're talking 29ers, anyone running a 2×9 on theirs? I've been using 24/36 and 11-34 on my 26" bike and thinking that 22/32 with the same 11-34 should be about right.

CRC, all is forgiven. The nice postman has just delivered them to me. 🙂

C'mon, a quick squish on the floor and you could do a full MBR review!

    🙂

They seem fine considering what they cost. Not quite as well finished as the Rockshox i have but that's to be expected. Feel fairly light although i have no scales at the office to weigh them – i'll do that later and post it up. The thru axle seems well made but i can't try it as yet because CRC didn't send the 15mm adaptors i ordered 2 hours before the forks!

All in all everything appears in order (although the lockout lever seemed to have come off in transit but then it popped straight back on).

I also have to wait for a spare raceface deus crown race before i try them and i'm having a nightmare sourcing one. Nobody seems to stock them except CRC and they are out of stock.

Get the crown race you have (I assume that you want one frame with two sets of forks), cut a slot in it and then you can easily move the crown race between forks so you don't need a spare. I've done this for years on my and mates' bikes – never any problems.

(slight caveat – doesn't work for non-cartridge bearing headsets but these days that's quite uncommon except for very cheap ones).

Just use a hacksaw to cut it or is there something better?

Hacksaw's fine (ideally get a new blade to make sure it's neat).

1920g with uncut 255mm steerer and including the Bolt Thru Axle.

    1790g without the axle.

Reasonable weight i'd say, certainly for the cost.

That's it, committed to buy the Singular now 🙂 Thanks Sam.

All I need to do is sell some other bits so that I can afford some forks for it 🙂

Does Cadel know that Father Christmas can't afford any presents for him this year now?

    Indeed I do. Not to you though, you're a pain… 😉

It's mini-Clubber's birthday this week. He's too young to realise he's supposed to be getting presents which is lucky…

Mr Tall – Yep I'm running 2×9 on the Paradox 36-22 upfront and 11-32 out back, have considered other set ups but waiting till i need to replace the whole cassette/rear mech/chain for 2×10 when 9spd is phased out in 2011 😉

Oh and good choice on the Swift clubber, I'm sure jnr will understand 😛
