I have a spare CK upper cup which i plan to use upside down as a lower cup but am lacking a spare C.K. crown race, so can i bodge it by using a Cane Creek crown race intended for 36'/45' bearings???
Campagnolo Standard: 45/45.
Cane Creek Standard: 36/45.
FSA Standard: 36/36.
SO WHAT STANDARD ARE C.K.?
cheers
This is a case for Inspector Kersae!!
It looks suspiciously like a 45 degress chamfer on the inner race-it is quite shallow tho.The bearings are proprietary tho I think. There are FAR more different headset bearing sizes then that!!!
i found this on a JEJames google search
" The Chris King headset has been considered a benchmark of quality for .... tube ID 6.9mm depth Sealed cartridge bearings 70g 36°/36° degree bearing angles. ... "
but no info when i click on the link, so its lookin like i canne do it???
or 36 degree!!!
VV LOL @ Dylan
They are proprietry and the angle of bearing contact is not nec the same as the angle at the crown race.
why not just buy a chriss king one then you know its right only £8.00
