Moving to a house that has a sky dish, but I don’t want to subscribe, so will I get any free channels via an old skybox? (Dish has twin leads for sky+)

I believe you can get most of what’s on Freeview.

You need to get a (free) card for the box. Not sure where these are from.

You need to buy a Freesat card which is £25 – I recall that I just phoned them up and sorted it there and then.

sky+ recording functionality costs you £10 a month. I’ll be looking for a freesat pvr when my sky contract expires

We have Freesat in our bedroom (it just takes a third feed from our satellite dish, the other two feeds being for the totally unconnected Sky+ account downstairs).

    It works fine.
