The plastic mudguards that I had on my Grifter – no idea if they guarded mud effectively but they made a great motorbike sound when shoved against the tyre 🙂

3-speed twist-shift was great too 🙂 I want an adult sized Grifter, my favourite bike ever

captainflashheart: I got to meet him at Bikeradar Live thing at Brands Hatch in 2010 or whenever it was. I saw some kid riding along on a new Breezer so ran after him and got him to stop to find out where he got it from. Turned out to be Jo’s son and then I met Jo himself later on 🙂

Seriously tempted by buying a new one, Evans will have them in the UK soon, just a shame they are not doing the new Lightnings in the red/white, only the black which was specific to the xtr shod Lightning back in the day, mines the Pro which came with a full xc pro setup (except oddly the pedals which were xt)

This, mine got nicked whilst at a race in Cannock Chase (yes I was waiting for my race)

Booo bloomin hooo… I’m still annoyed about it all these years later.

If there’s one thing (well, two things now I think of it) that I would like to see make a comeback then it would have to be replacement stems and straight gauge (ie. no bulge) Ti bars for my Trimnell forks…

It’d make getting spares a hell of a lot easier than it is now! 😉

The above pic reminds me of trying to keep my Cannondale beast of the east looking like new. I used to dip a cloth in petrol and rub hell out of the skinwalls to get them looking like new.

    Petrol!

+1 for Pedro’s Milk Levers. Still using mine after 20 years.

I’ve got a purple 7-speed Crud Claw somewhere…a potentially good idea, but the noise – oh God, the noise!

No petrol went anywhere near my bike when the picture was taken.. Conti tyres were always that colour 😉
