What are people running or do I just go with XT?

For that budget, the RaceFace Aeffect (uses the same 24mm BB that you probably have already) or Turbine (30mm BB) are good options, allow direct mount rings, light, work well.

With the new XT, you’ll need a new ring anyway as they have a weird BCD, so might as well get the above and a direct mount ring instead
