    sorry, a bit of a ‘what tyres’ ? Going to Lizard for a few days, taking the bike, never been before. Muddy or granite ?

    both is the answer.

    if you can get up onto high moors (as we have in the far west in penwith) then the soil has high granite content so drains fast. at the moment its surprsingly dry, but in the soggy bits esp where horses have ridden, as ever, its nasty and hard going. in the valleys where the soil is more loamy the tracks will tend to be quite hard going, again esp if horses have chewed it up.

    i’m running muds at the moment.
