Snuck out for a couple of hours on the dirty drop bar bike once I got back from the Rugby Club and the Wife got back from her mate’s hen do.

I think one of the reasons I love this bike is that it allows a couple of hours blast at anytime during the weekend without worry of riding cheeky trails during peak hours.

Great day at Kirroughtree yesterday

Out on the road bike yesterday doing more training for the Fred Whitton around the Bowland fells. It was such a good day I thought I’d take out my new summer bike. Just short of 78miles with 7800ft of climbing

Today was family day so we headed up to Ambleside for a walk round Loughrigg (and the obligatory look around Biketreks 😉 ) glorious weather with amazing views !




Then onto Daisey’s cafe (the pooch was hungry and wanted some toast :D)

well I didn’t get the new stem and bars fitted and we didn’t go to Cannock 🙁 I was greedy though and had a quick 10 miler out in local mud on Saturday morning then in the evening went out with my mate from Alsager, out along flat dark lanes and bridleways for distance and speed rather than Gnar!

I have started, oh a pretty normal day of checking out routes and daydreaming of endless ribbons of tarmac, low cut hedges, groomed fields, blazing sunshine, pheasants and pigs.

Tonights beer, a Spring Porter from my most favourite pub in the whole world, a tome, a rhyme, stanzas all nine..

Another Friday sneaky one

A wee solo ride tomorrow. Heading down to stinchar bridge to do the Cornish loch, loch doon, Nic o the loup, loch bradan circuit. Weather looks shite mind, but it’s a pretty weather proof circuit. I’ll post up some pics tomorrow night.

Off to Carron valley with a posse from Stirling Bike Club / Wallace Warriors for tomorrow. It’s looking like 20+ riders, some of which are first time proper off-road riders.. 8)

This weekend I’m in Tokyo – in a few hours I’m off for a ride in the foothills of Mt Fuji, to a place called Hakone. If the weather holds, it should be stunning. If…………….

I’ve been driven most of the way up Fuji and remember wondering at the time whether there were any off road routes down.

My weekend’s riding is over 🙁 went to Cannock last night in the dark and had a fantastic time. 🙂

* MASSIVE hangover that stayed with me all day despite riding for about 4 hours and consuming savoury (bacon) and sweet (cake) products almost continuously!

Taking a break from all that speed…

What a difference a week makes! Last week the Garmin was reading around -1C for most of the ride, I was wearing all my layers and dropping the tyre pressures on the chubby Solaris down to 6psi to cope with the snow.

This week it was 14C, no jacket and time to remind myself just how much fun the full bouncer can be 🙂

Had a lovely ride on Saturday around Loch Doon area, I hardly ever ride there, and it’s a mere 30 minutes away as well. Must try harder.
