So, who was the other bloke on the triple clamped Enduro this evening then? At least I wasn’t the only person rocking the 6″ travel, triple clamp scene in the park!

Oh, and did anyone else see that blonde on the Cervelo? Hubba, hubba, hubba….

I once sold a GT STS (the carbon version of the LTS) to a guy who said all he wanted to do was ride round Richmond Park. It’s a fantastic place to people-watch, so much bike porn there and a large percentage of the bikes being ridden by folk who barely know one end of it from the other!

However, having said that: more people on bikes = good.

Whoor! Blonde eh! Pwharw!! Get ’em out love!!

I did see a guy riding along the South Bank in Southwark last weekend on a full DH rig + full face lid, hilarious. Seen the same sights in Canary Wharf, thought my Blur was overbiked for the Mendips mind.

Still, poor folk in the SE have no real hills, I’d probably do the same…

[over to you mikey – or have I just been trolled?]

I suppose it’s a bit like having a Ferrari or Bentley and just cruising around Peuto Banus. Maybe he pulled that lass on the strength of the calibre of his bike 🙂

I always see a fella on an Orange Patriot in there in the afternoons when I go round. I always think its too much bike, but then maybe its his only bike – you have to ride something somewhere to keep fit.

It was bloody hot in there today. I went round between 4 & 5 and thought I was going to pass out at one point.

I was talking to a guy outside a bike shop the other week about his Specialized S-Works Stumpy. He’d apparently turned in an Enduro as he needed a road bike for a charity ride he was doing this summer. Manchester to Blackpool I think. Now personally if I that sort of money to spend I’s have had a proper road bike, but hey, if this guy prefers to ride a high cost FS instead, so what. C’est la vie. As someone above said people on bikes must be good!

Its very easy to spot “who has been sold an over the top bike from the Local Evans” when riding around the park.

Sonor, do a search on Evans here for my views on them! 😉

I can assure you I don’t use them!

Captain – which Evans is your local one?

Given the choice I guess there are many of us who’d rather be riding our 4, 5, 6, whatever travel bikes down the local d/h track but some of us have to work too to be able to afford them . . . so what if I’m overbiked on my commute 😉

Anyone remember the Dirt article on Vaughan from Orange who commutes regularly on his Fox 40 equipped 224 . . . respect! and I’d guess it’s a hell of a lot more fun taking the scenic route home than a blinkin’ road bike.

It’s nearly as good as the ones on Cervelo P3s with Zipp 606s for an evening spin… When I rode in Richmond park regularly the only way to make it moderately interesting was to ride a fixie cross bike.

One of my friends rides DH so his only bike is a 45lb behamoth. Rides it arroud London Parks, his logic when questioned was, whats the point in getting a road bike, only to ride it arround the same small circles, just faster? And he made turbo’s sound even sillier, whats the point in a road bike if your not going anywhere fast? You get just as fit sweatign a DH bike round in circles.

There is never an excuse for owning a fixie cross bike

    (Smiley noted)

Having just built an Enduro up, I can totally see the point of them (well in this case anyway). The E150 fork is no DH fork, it’s basically a triple clamp XC/All Mountain fork – what it does give is the stiffest front end you could wish for, with no weight penalty.
