Hi

How does one transfer music from an external hard drive to an ipod classic 120gb without loading all the music onto itunes, in the past I have just dropped the music into the ipod by dragging this way is not working ! Have apple done something to stop this from happening ?

i doubt that’d ever work as ipods use an internal db to ‘know’ what music is on there. Unless you had some kinda plugin running (don’t go near macos so I’ve no idea about that end) the db wouldn’t get updated, so I can’t see it working.
