Unable to remove screws from a bottle cage that was fitted years ago, presumably I’ve damaged the threads.

    Any bright ideas please?

    Thanks. 🙂

if they’re just spinning it could be the captive nuts are spinning in the frame rather than the bolts in the nuts?

What he said. More information needed.
Are the heads turning with the hex key, or are they rounded off?

Thanks chaps. One turns, the other doesn’t. Consider that I’m careful in not over-tightening (learned that lesson years ago) so a bit surprised. Tried pliers, might give the bottle-nose ones a go.

Have you tried swearing at it? Worked last night with a stuck rotor bolt.

    Hey sandwicheater – I’m a lady, couldn’t possibly do that. 😆

and your poo smell of flowers……

If the bolt is turning but not coming out, then it does sound like the rivnut is spinning in the frame. There’s no easy solution to this.
A Dremel or die grinder is probably the best way to get it out, then start again with new rivnuts.

OK, thanks Graham. Would it have helped to have lightly greased before fitting?

    hammy – of course!
