    Its for a trials bike, some have front/crank mounted freewheels.

    I used to ride mtb trials (not competitive or anything) i wrecked no end of freehubs…

    Freewheel on the cranks so you can change gear without pedalling (at least on the 26" variety).

    Not sure why on a mod (20"), although no reason not to other than that everyone 'usually' puts the freewheel on the rear
