This isn’t a dig at anybody (so let’s try and keep it that way) but there are things that I just don’t “get”.

I get

Expensive watches (Omega, TAG and so on, but not silly expensive ones)

I don’t get

Single malt whiskey
Expensive bike components (For example, Chris King… How much better is it than a Cane Creek S3?)
Impractical cars (BMW X6, Audi Q7… why?)

We’re all different and nobody is wrong for having a preference, but what do you and don’t you “get”? No arguing please. 😉

I don’t get why it has to rain when I am trying to set stuff up outside

I get wet

WCA – The curse of the privateer event. You will get sunstroke on the day you have to take it down. Also, your staple gun will pack up when you are 4 miles away from the spare one locked in the boot of your car.

I just don’t get expensive watches, honestly I don’t. Time is time. Its a trinket/status symbol and before mobile phone I could just about understand. These days it seems a bit pointless tbh

I do get expensive cars/bikes etc because the experience is different when using them. Still a staus symbol I suppose but one I can understand.

I get Real ale and bikes, any bikes.

I don’t get women – a friggin mystery!

Don’t get:

Spending money to have quality.

Women (made the mistake of thinking I did twice now, and then they were gone)
Football (Its an ok game, but I can play it too… But Steve Peat or Liam Killeen don’t earn £100k a week for being good at riding bikes!)
Recumbent bikes (can somebody explain the attraction please!)
Why “Mac Vs PC” ends in fisticuffs every time it is debated (they’re both just computers, they both do similar jobs, you just pay a bit more for one over the other for a nicer box and slightly more intuitive OS… What’s the problem?)
Cheese (it makes me sick, can’t eat it)
Binge drinking and/or drug use at the weekends (is your life that bad you really need to forget about it for 48hours every week?)
RnB and most chart music (ie stuff that is made to appeal to 14 year old girls who buy singles)

The one thing I really really really don’t get is calling inanimate objects “she” or “her”.

I don’t get Oakleys. £200+ on a pair of sunglasses? You can get a pair for a tenner, how can Oakleys be worth 20 times as much? I think they’re just a status symbol (like expensive watches), and wish people would admit to it.
