Always go for double-butted (DB) regardless of the application – plain gauge might be cheaper but ultimately are more prone to failure at the head because they are inherently less resilient.

Rosebikes are pretty cheap for DT Swiss spokes, though expensive postage.

Sapim spokes are cheaper than DT Swiss I used Spa cycles

Action Sports are good for DT, always seem to send spares FOC too.
