    When T-Mobile claims with their monthly deals to give "free unlimited internet access' with their G1 & G2 Android phone deals, does free unlimited access mean;
    1. the internet service only is free, but you pay for hours/minutes connected 'online'? or,
    2. service is free, and total time connected online is free? or,
    3. something else?
    cheers

    It's completely unlimited within the UK (assuming you're in the UK). There is probably a fair usage policy. Make sure roaming is disabled if you don't want to use data services outside of the UK, as that can be expensive.

    orange free unlimited access means 500mb download limit, but as the orange person said, no one has gone over the limit yet, you're not going to download films onto your phone are you?

    Android, does that not record your every move and then quietly send it to Mountain View?

    Truly unlimited. I think the fair usage policy is 3GB or something, but they won't cut you off or charge you if you go over it. Best bit about the phone is being able to set it up as a wireless access point and get on the internet on my laptop. Or Last.FM in the car via 3G. Or podcasts automatically downloaded straight to the phone.
