  • Swapping forks. Advice on crown to hub lengths please?

    Project single speed has started:

I’ve got a pair of RC31s lying around (as you do) to replace the existing Project 2’s as I’d like to run a disc brakes.

The crown to hub length is 44cm on the RC31s as opposed to 41cm. Apart from the front being 1″ higher will there be any other issues?

    Thanks in advance.

It will ride like a chopper.

Seriously – I have tried a longer AtoC rigid fork on a similar aged Kona and it ruined the handling and look reet wrong.

I ended up running a 425mm AtoC and that worked well.

I can`t see there being anything to worry about.

What fork did you end up getting?
