how much faster will I be once I'm 20/30/40 lbs lighter?*

There is an equation, and it's quite complex, but broadly speaking if the hill is steep enough that you're going slow enough so that air and rolling resistance is neligable then your power requirement to climb a hill at a given speed is proportional to your weight.

http://theclimbingcyclist.com/gradients-and-cycling-how-much-harder-are-steeper-climbs/

So, lose 10% of your weight (looking at the average STW chubber, that'll be say 200 -> 180lbs) then you'll be 10% faster.

Let's have more motivational posters though.

e.g "Skips not Chips!"

or

"Do you realise how many calories are in all that extra pastry round the side?"

Well I reckon 1 leg must 10%ish of my weight, so based on the above if I lop 1 leg off I'll be 10% quicker 😯

Awesome 🙂

I've manipulated Binners to do my bidding!*

You're like my dancing monkey now.

Dance, Monkey, Dance!

* In what might be an STW first, I've managed to get a Graphic Designer to produce some free work to my specifications in a short timescale.
I'm like bloody Derren Brown or something. 😉

Dr gave me the all clear, so let the massive hardcore non-stop exercise fest begin.

Not tonight, though, it's cold.

Looking at the haggis in the oven, the homemade cranachan in the fridge and the bottle of single malt on the worktop, I think tonight might be a 'cheat night'

Fun fact, by this Friday I am on target to have lost the same amount of weight as a 2017 Genesis Equilibrium 725.

(6.5lbs)

So, what you're saying is, that if you can lose as much weight from your body as your bike weighs then effectively you'll be able to ride a weightless bike?

Like off of the Hair Bear Bunch?

Mind blown.

That sounds like a pretty good reason to buy a new bike if you ask me 😆

I had to have 2 teeth removed at the dentist yesterday evening after repeated crown breakages. Was surprised how big one of them was and couldn't help but think "that one must weigh a bit". I'm hoping this kind of weight loss is not considered cheating.

Well I've done weighing today as I'm away for the weekend. I'm bang on target at a steady 2lb a week. eating less and moving more 😀

Might treat myself in a bit...

We would also accept:

Monster Munch - The alternative brunch

As an aside, how are you coping with the demise of full fat Fridays, Binners?

😆

How far can you take this corn-based "diet" snack series?

You could get an exhibition out of it.

How about...

Flabby Bingo Wings? - Jonny's Onion Rings

Too fat for your Waders? - Have some Space Raiders!

For a body that dazzles..... Fill up on Frazzles.

The corn based snack theme has definitely got legs. As well as its Monster Munch feet 😀

Jamie - I'm compensating for no full fat fridays by storing it all up for the first pastry based item of the year. Cow Pie at the George in Keswick at the weekend. And believe me, I know it'll be worth the wait. The stuff of meaty, pastry encased, calorie-laden legend!!!* 😀

* I will be doing a big walk over Cat Bells to work up an appetite for it

Everyone ready for the weigh in?

Was lusting after some bakewell flapjack earlier, but have resisted! Today is also my 10th day of riding out of 11 (had a rest on sat), so doing good. 🙂

Aye, just about. Off out on the road bike tonight (temperatures might get to a balmy 0deg) to burn off a final few lardy ounces.

No idea how this is going to turn out. I deliberately haven't weighed myself for two weeks.

One poor week and one good week. It could go either way TBH.

Walked a mile ( and another one back again) to Tesco to buy sushi today instead of taking the car to the chip shop.

I've got to eat soft food like soup and yogurt for the next couple of days so I went to the shop and walked past the soup straight to the Ben and Jerry's.

New scales have turned up, I got on, first thought was "these will have to go back, they are weighing light", Mrs gets on "Fine for me, same as usual".... expecting a good result tomorrow....

I'm going to beat my target, which is good as feel I will need a buffer for when the weight loss slows down.

....as will I when I have shoulder surgery in a month or two.

195.3lbs, 2.2 down from last week and only 3lbs off my March target. Resting pulse also down, 5k PB down, generally all good. I've eaten OK but not great but the exercise regime has been good.

It suggests that my starting weight may well have been measured wrong as I think the first week loss was a bit OTT.

So far, so good and thanks to Jon for collating.

Quite easy. But you're going to need to borrow my sauna suit and go for a jog.....in a sauna.

Using this Monday's weigh in value as in the US with work this week.

99.9kg (220lbs) down from 101.2 (223) last weigh in. Happy with steady progress so far.

Unfortunately it's probably gone up over the last couple of days as I'm eating out. And next week I will be confined to the house after an op and probably no riding of any sort for a couple of weeks 🙁

81.5kg for me. Working trip to Madrid added half a kilo but got it off again before today.

Another couple of lbs for me this week.

9lb loss so far. Missed my target (isdisappoint) but it's in the right direction.

Trying to stick to new habits - nothing faddy. Eating generally well. Biking everyday which is great.

Might have to extend dry January (!?!) so not as to jeopardise progress towards targets

Good luck to all with the weigh ins today

86.6/191lbs this morning, I may only have lost half a kilo in the last 2 weeks, but those 2 weeks have included a weeks skiing in Ste Foy with cakes, cheese and Cote de Rhone. Then 5 days at the Dusseldorf Boat Show fuelled by bratwurst and beer, schnitzel and beer, strudel and beer. So all in all I am quite happy to still be going in the right direction.

Pretty good week resulting in 4lbs down to 179lbs so bang on target. Total of 11lbs loss appy with that as not been perfect, going for a perfect 2 weeks to next weigh in to see how well I can do

Edit: target was 178 so I'm 1lb off, bigger! Must try harder
