Modern low-temperature washes don’t kill bacteria, it needs to be above 60c to do that. Your armpits have their own bacterial “soup” which you can reduce by washing but you need a deodorant to suppress the bacteria that break down sweat to make a smell. Mitchum is excellent and unperfumed.

If you are stressed and sweating a lot, your pits will get smelly fast.

this is bringing back bad memories of a teacher I had who stank so bad you could tell he’d been in a room even after he left

have we got a solution to the problem of smelly shirts which can’t be washed at high temperatures?

you tried an alum block? bought one for shaving purposes and at the time i read theyre good for neutralising odours, i think plenty of people use them for deodarants. just wet it and rub it well into your pits id imagine.

Alum is not a deodorant, it’s an anti-perspirant, which works by blocking the sweat glands.

Botox to your armpits to stop you sweating?

(Yes it’s a thing, yes it works, and C.O.I. yes I do it)

    Fresh today.

Used spray anti persperant before bed, showered, a roll on and I am smelling fresh.

Was it the dettol or the hand soap, who knows, but I no longer stink, today anwyay.

Shower normally then clean your armpits with surgical spirit. I’m had that issue for a week once and the surgical spirit did the trick.
