    Hi all,
Will be heading over to South Africa in February next year for my brothers wedding near Cape Town and am contemplating after the wedding on going on an mtb holiday/tour.
I’ve had a little look on the web but can’t really make any clear decisions on any good companies and riding locations and what would be best to do for about a week.
Has anyone got any experiences that can help me decide on what to do. Im a pretty fit rider and love flowing singletrack and big climbs. I’m not really a full on downhill rider but would like to take out my 6” travel full susser (if needed) so i can give everything a go.
Any help, would be much appreciated.
    Many thanks

    Try these guys… http://www.ridehousemartin.com/

Its a new company run by World Cup photographer Sven Martin and his wife Anka who was also a top female racer. They are really great people so I'm sure would work something out for you and certainly will know the great riding.

    Cheers

    Thanks mtbcut,

I saw them when they had a bit of press release a couple of weeks agao and got well excited. They look realy good but i think their only doing the one trip to start off with in march.

    Anyone else?

There are some reasonable singletrack trails around Oak Valley, which also has the benefit of being a rather nice vineyard. There are also some good trails in the Lebanon Forest, but nothing too gnarly. Riding is also allowed on Table Mountain, which is spectacular if not that technically challenging.

Might be worth contacting Steve at Daytrippers: http://www.daytrippers.co.za/biking-tours.php as they provide a service to riders wanting to follow and do parts of the Cape Epic route.

The importers of MuleBar in SA might be able to point you in the right direction as well – Rudi at http://www.mulebar.co.za
