Hmm, I did a time trial in similar conditions on 6 Apr 08. Trouble was I was in full aero bling with disc wheel etc. The snow suddenly appeared out of nowhere and the triathlon going in the opposite direction had to be stopped.
Grum, If you’ve done winter walking and a bit of easy climbing, you could easily do alot of stuff in the Alps.

Cheers – yeah I was starting to get into lead climbing and a bit of winter walking/easy mountaineering a couple of years ago but then had a bit of a health disaster (PVFS/CFS). Hopefully one day I will be able to take it up again properly.
Ah yes, one of my mates has had that for 10 years on and off. He’s been going thru a bad patch the last 12months. Luckily he works for the Police, so they are very understanding and have treated him well re. time off.
I had altitude sickness at the Margherita Hut, so don’t recall much, luckily the top floor is a Laboratory and I got some drugs from a German lady doctor in exchange for her doing experiments on me during the night.
I had one of the best days skiing in my entire life on Nevis Range (Red The Goose) this March. The snow was sublime – fresh deep fluffy powder and pure blue skies. Never forget it.
