Definitely put bolts in , but use stainless allen bolt grub screws , with a bit of locktight to stop them winding all the way in & jingling about.

Sounds good. What size threads are they?

Yes. Look up DIN913 set screw in A1 or A2 stainless. They look M4 or M5.

Titanium frames seem to last about as long as an ice lolly these days, so it really doesn’t matter. Maybe some waxed matches so you can have a fire while you wait to get picked up?

    😀

I’d put the two bolts in. And make sure they’re securing some sort of top tube/seat tube supporting brace aswell. When they crack, thats where they seem to go….

That Ti frame should be fine. It’s not a Lynskey

I haven’t weighed dried mud but it’s probably heavier than nylon grubs.

Dome head bolts would look better.

I was thinking some nice stainless button heads for that. Maybe Ali if you fancy a bit of colour but use plenty of copaslip either way.

Thanks guys, something to think about. Ive got some SS grub screws coming so I’ll see what they look like before doing anything else.

Sorry Scotroutes – it is a Lynskey (so it’s probably broken by now!)

Got exactly the same frame as you and there’s a pair of nice little ti bolts in mine. It’s the simple things. Happy days 🙂
