Had a search but not found anything definitive. Will a new slx/xt double crankset run single ring without much bother? I know triple with the single ring in the centre spot is optimal, but the new 2×10 from shimano look a lot nicer than my current 3×10 woth a single ring and seeing as they’re £65 from ribble I fancy one. Is the chain line miles out and is it a simple job to sort with spacers?

Im running 1×10 setup from an original 2×10. Havent used spacers and its running fine although any further may cause issues.

You may find that you cant run a 32t on a double as the chain may catch on the spider arms

Hmm hadn’t thought of the spider catching the chain. I’ve got a 32t works thick thin to try out so that might kill the idea. Off to hunt out some tech docs then to try and get the sizes. Thanks
