I have a remedy with an xt bb (ht2) and an FSA headset (FSA NO.57E tapered).

After a few rides in the surrey hills (overbiked a bit haha), in dryish and v sandy conditions I appear to have sand + grit stuck in my headset (bearings?) and my bottom bracket “area”. When I spin the cranks I get a grinding sound, and when I turn the handlebars fast I get a different, but equally grindy noise from the headset.

One guy at bike shop says new bearing sets all around, the other remove strip down degrease wash then regrease, another flush with gt85 and don’t worry about bb as it won’t get any worse. I don’t have a ht2 wrench atm but can buy one on crc!

    Best way to solve?

Sounds a bit poor for a bike that costs a million pounds… I’d just wash it with soapy water and carry on riding it, bearings wear out, yours might wear out a bit quicker but that’s life.

    Take apart, clean, grease…done.
