Broken Classical Guitar, where to get fixed?

So what the diagnosis on this?

Noticed the intonation was out (have done for a while, but never investigated) and subsequently that the bridge was bent on the GBE strings, worse on the E obviously. So I took the strings off and I noticed this crack on the guitar, bugger. The crack goes up just short of an inch on it, top half feels solid enough.

Anyhow, what’s the prognosis and where is best to get it fixed in and around Glasgow?

Guitars a Joan Cashimira 77, not an amazing guitar, but good enough for me to want to get it fixed.

Don’t know about glasgow but Phil at Live Music in Edinburgh is good- he rescued my strat for me when the body cracked and deformed around the trem post, nobody else wanted to touch it. Electric, obviously, but I’m pretty sure he does acoustics too.

I don’t play any musical instrument but have walked by The Guitar Workshop on Argyle Street a few times and glanced in admiring the place.
They might me able to help.

aye jimmy moon is my first thought, just wondering if i’ll maybe need a classical specialist to sort this out though, and if any specific recommendations. failing that jimmy moon is just down the road, easy enough to pop down with it.

I’ve never had any work done by them- but I’ve had a strum on one of their guitars and they’re super friendly.

Is it an expensive guitar?

A few more slightly wider angle pics would help.

Has the top bellied out much or just cracked?

Also the folks on the acoustic soundboard forums are a friendly bunch and have a few experts and luthiers in thier ranks who’ll be able to give very good advice, it’s a UK forum too so of it’s economical to repair they’ll be able to suggest someone reasonably local I’m sure.. Worth joining up!

It’s just the bit at the front that holds saddle that’s cracked, the rest of the bridge is solid enough, and apart from a few dings and scratches(I take it camping and what not, it does get a certain amount of abuse) but it’s sound otherwise. tbh I’m not sure if it’ll just be a case of gluing it down again, but i’d rather just get it properly looked at. It’s just the crack at the front there that’s this is the issue..

As for the guitar, no it’s not majorly expensive, cost me about £380 or something 10 years ago, if I remember right.

It’s a cracking sounding classical though, really bright and loud, so worth getting fixed. It’s my main go to guitar, I prefer nylon. i’ve my mexi strat to keep me going just now though.

Btw, I now think I’ll go over to that guitar workshop, jimmy moon only seems to open from 9-5 mon-friday, so I’ll head over to the workshop of saturday, get their advice.

I dare say it could simply be glued back on, but yes I’d get someone in the know to have a look.

Went on a guitar forum with a builders/repair section, suggested superglue, working brilliantly!

If you do get stuck or your repair fails… there’s a luthier in the village (near Cupar, Fife) just down the road from me – Steve Agnew[/url]. That isn’t his website – someone, a collector of his guitars I recall, made it for him. I know that folk have stopped off to get instruments repaired. I could get hold of a phone number if need be.
