Sometime last week some buggers nipped into the bike sheds here (Summertown, Oxford) and whipped off a pair of white recons, with Avid J5 calipers thereon, and the bars with Avid 5 levers and X9 shifters. All of which means I now have two ongoing insurance claims – with different insurers – for the same bike, one of which claims involves the repair of a stolen part which will be covered by another insurer. Oh joy.

As the recons were probably internally damaged in a car crash in september I sincerely hope the thieves fitted them to their own bike. But this seems unlikely.
