Looking to replace my 717’s with something a little wider but would be nice to keep the spokes as they are Revolutions… Found these ( http://www.merlincycles.com/stans-no-tubes-ztr-rims-pair-55634.html ) can i do a straight swap from Mavic 717’s (ERD 541) to the ZTR 355’s (ERD 540) and are the 355’s suitable for anything other than racing or am i better of hanging around till i find a good deal on some Arches?

I’ve changed rims with a couple of mm difference without problems.

You can change from 12 to 14mm nipples (or vice versa) if needed.

I’m using some 355’s (rebuilt wheel from DT Swiss rim reusing spokes) and they’ve been fine – no dings and have stayed true. Had a 2.3 Baron them last winter without any issues.

You have to be a bit more careful with spoke tension as there’s no eyelets ont he rims and Stans are fairly specific about spoke tension.

Should be fine- you never know, your existing wheels might be 0.4mm away from bottoming out the spokes but it’s very unlikely. And it’ll save a bunch of weight.
