Ok – just been watching the TT stuff and have a hankering to go ride a bike again!

Old fart, me: don't want to buy a bike (can't afford one for a start!) but I should like to do a track day and give it a go again.

I have a bike licence and have had a few bikes in the past (was a dispatch rider for a while) and would like to do a 'Red Letter Day' or similar riding a bike on a track without cars present to piss me off / kill me.

Ideally based in southern England (I live near Basingstoke): any ideas / experiences (how much dosh / what you actually get to do etc?)

    Thanks

Closest I've seen to that are things like the Ron Haslem Race School where they include the bike in the price. http://www.haslamraceschool.com/ or California Superbike school http://www.superbikeschool.co.uk/

Other alternative is a regular track day and google for a company that hires out track bikes.

or buy 'the comic' – MCN and have a peruse of the track day section and see what else is available.

I'd say do track days on hired bikes twice a month? **** riding a fast bike on the road!

I'd agree with the above statement, BSB rider Josh Brookes looked to be having fun on my local mx track today despite not being at silly speeds…
