On the suspicion that rich people tend to also be people with undue power and influence, I don’t see any harm in knowing who those people are.

If it helps highlight the vast inequality in society then it’s doing a good service (although I realise that’s not why they publish it).

I agree with this. Although I would add that publishing the names of the richest can also increase accountability in terms of taxes and things.
