Does anyone else find this chain lube only good for short periods. I follow the instructions to the letter maticulously and within about 30 miles the chain is as dry as a nun's crutch.

chain is as dry as a nun's crutch

    😆

Yeah, it doesn't last too long…I have to re-lube after every ride. Its quite thin for a wet weather lube as well. Thought it might fair better in dryer conditions but no.

Found it OK in mainly dry conditions when off road touring as the chain kept clean and was therefore easy to relube at the end of the day but no good once it got wet.

I find it fine. BTW it's meant to look bone dry. I reapply roughly every 5 hours in the dry even if that's overkill and get good life from chains. Big plus is the clean / non-sticky chain. I've only had chain suck in the worst muddy conditions.

On the other hand I fine Squirt (dry lube) totally crap and everything rusts!

Riding home tonite after applying on Friday and what I thought was my new botton bracket creaking was in fact the dry chain. This after about 50 miles. I agree it is clean but when the chain starts to rattle and creak it is definately dry.

Use it all the time, year round and found it to be great, you just need to apply it after the ride so it dries, then all the crap does not attract to the chain on the ride, and with a lot of my riding in Thetford it does not attract the sand to the chain like a lot of lubes I have used in the past

yes it needs applying more frequently than traditional thick lubes, but imo it lasts longer than any of those wax/dry lubes.

personally I haven't found a better lube than this

I use it but only in dry conditions – as soon as it gets moist then I get loads of chainsuck.

It apparently drys and leaves a layer of wax type lubricant on the chain so is dry but still lubricates.

I use it all year round and it lasts about 10ish hours in the dry or one ride if it's very wet, best thing is how clean the chain stays in all conditions. I've got a Squirt sample which I may give a goon the road bike.

I use it year round and don't have any of the sort of problems others are suggesting with it washing/wearing off. Don't even relube that often. The trick I think is to start with a clean chain and then to lube well before riding so it has a chance to dry a bit.

I use it all the time – better for a cleaner chain.

I hear what your saying but the noisey creaky chain is worse than an oily one anyday especially after such a short time.
