Facebook launches an app as hg says. My code still didn’t work, so I emailed and they’ve given me £10 credit.

To everyone who’s had a credit for the 10 euros. I’ve had one which reads as credit note but it’s all in German. Is it a 10 euro refund, voucher, credit note? If so, how do you use it?

I aware of that but it wouldn’t allow me to input it at checkout so i emailed them after i did the order and they replied with what translates as a £10 credit note. However, I’ve no idea how to use it as it isn’t on my account?

I’ve got some on their way from germany along with a mystery gift.

Unfortunately they’re the non ice tech ones, the ice tech ones have a wee label on the carrier and are a different model. I think I’ll get them anyway and get some ice tech if I go the Alps next year. I hope these brakes aren’t in anyway dependent on the new pads/discs to behave favorably for extended DH? Fingers crossed the bring out a 6 bolt SLX icetech rotor!

Got the discount code when doing it from the laptop rather than mobile.

I decided on just getting Hope floating rotors as am a bit of a weight weenie and the RT76s are rather heavy and rotational weight at that.

I have ordered them expecting to be able to pay by debit card but not an option for the U.K, so have gone for advanced payment.

I’m guessing I have to go into a Lloyds bank to pay rather than instructing my bank to pay into the Lloyds payable account? I’ve clearly never had to do a payment this way before.

Things you have to do so the other half doesn’t know you’re buying more bike bits eh!!!

j40aja Hope floaters aren’t light !. I sold mine after buying some Alligator Aries rotors, they were 20% light than Hope floaters 😉

I could only see options for Paypal, credit cards or prepayment.I take it you just go through the credit card option for a debit card?

Will check my order and see if I can change the payment method on-line tonight, if not I’ll contact them tomorrow to pay by debit card.

Re; Hope floaters not being light- I know there are plenty lighter but I meant compared to the Shimano ones. Hopes add a bit of bling too with colour options.

Good deal that! But no stock…so no good for now (or ever again??)

Just put mine on. Due to the short lever blades I’ve had to mount the brakes outboard (oh the shame) and cant really get my seatpost droppist in the right place, brakes do seem good though. Resin pads with aluminium backs should last tomorrows night ride, will get some sintered superstars.

I bought one pair of each colour – fitted the black ones onto my red and black Epic and plan to put the silver ones on my ML8.

I think the black calipers look better, but prefer the silver levers I think!

Will test them again tomorrow, but very pleased so far!

Come on folks i just cant decid. I have a black and red anthem. Do i go silver or do i go black?

Haven’t really paid this thread any attention at all, but having a quick look these look great. Just about to order a set – anything I should know? Already emailed about the £10 off for the facebook like. And I already know about them being the euro way round (might give it a try for a while, got it set up that way on my bmx..).

MERLIN LINKY – XT M775 set with rotors

last years brakes not 2012’s

They are the old ones

just been out with my new set, i have replaced them for hope tech v2s, got the shimano rotors as well, not ice tech
initial impressions
lighter than the v2s
they are a lot chunkier than the v2s, and i dont think they look as good
not as progressive as the v2s
BUT… much more power than the hopes, no dragging on the rotors, which i sometimes got with the hopes
levers feel a lot nicer on the xts
think i will keep them on for 90% of the time and swap back to the hopes for trips abroad

Is there a massive difference? Thinking of chopping in my Hopes as I quite like the grabby feel of the Shimanos I’ve tried.

also noticed shimano xt/xtr organic pads for £6.odd at rose bikes ordered 4 sets at that price

seems to be a lot more power with the xts, more solid feel to them, and id only just bled the v2s
dont get me wrong v2s are excellent brakes, but the xts feel better again

Ollie – black. The silver levers look nice but I think the calipers look quite cheap, particularly compared with the lovely CNCed Hopes.
