As a few people have mentioned above, I’m not normally one to comment on articles “for the sake of it” but this is so sad and has really struck a chord with me.

I guess it is because I’m a similar age to Alex, recently got married myself and also share a love of riding bikes. The thought of leaving all that behind is hard to imagine. RIP.

I didn’t really want to post personal details but to end the speculation, it wasn’t CM poisoning, he had an underlying heart condition.

In which case, he won’t have suffered. Which may be small consolation for those who have lost him.
