    Sorry for those affected, but after a bad customer experience (computer says no corporate policy baloney) I’d avoided using them anyway.

    Not good for quick delivery, (I’ve had an order take 2 months to arrive) but I have had a few bargains from them on random things like Bont shoes and Michelin tyres.

    Did they also have a warehouse in Europe? It was portrayed as a Europe wide business, so if they were just based in Manchester quite likely a casualty of brexit.

    I only used them a couple of times, got some bargains and didn’t have problems, you only find what a companies commitment to customer service is when something goes wrong and you can judge their efforts to put it right.

    Was a regular customer many years ago prior to Hut Group takeover and emergence of Wiggle, but not so much since then. Figured they were getting desperate by the volume of emails.

    They’ll just be part of Hut Groups overall logistics and warehousing, their stock will sit next to all their other brands. Never seemed to be a specialist in one thing or another, maybe not even run by bike enthusiasts just box shifters – I suspect they are not making the margins from their bike wholesale network and just pulled the plug to put something else in their warehouse.

    Fwiw I worked on THGs first websites when they were drop shipping CDs and DVDs kudos to them for how they’ve grown.

    I liked them, clearpay was a nice option to have as well sometimes, shame as they did have some good deal on some stuff occasionally, but then not really a “bike shop”

    Bought my Direto and Lezyne Enhanced Super Pro from them, sorry to read the news, but I’ve not found them competitive for bike bits I needed in recent years. Internet shopping is ruthless, especially when wages don’t keep up with inflation.

    I bought an item and “plant a tree for free” was offered.
    It turned out they couldn’t get my item something like 5 weeks later (RaceFace grips) but they would not credit me because the order had “partially shipped” (the “free” tree, right). Quite the Catch 22. I guess the policy was make it frustrating and some will give up so they keep the cash. How much emailing are you willing to do for £20. Took 19 messages to get the credit.
    So I t took quite a dance to get a refund. Shame to see a business fail but that kind of practice is unacceptable.

    Whenever I contemplated shopping with them I got frustrated with repeated “15% off everything*” “Discount not valid for this item” combos…

    Purchased a road wheel set and the bearings went in no time at all, I understand they’re consumable but it was ridiculously short riding time.

    Probikekit immediately said it won’t be covered, I ended up contacting the UK distributor who said Probikekit cannot make this decision, it’s down to the distributor to decide if it’s a warranty case. Probikekit obviously got the hump as I went behind there back but the wheels were returned and a warranty repair was carried out. Probikekit returned my wheels using the same shipping method (collect from local co-op) I originally used (despite having my full address and collecting them from my home) but didn’t bother telling me or supplying tracking details. I contacted them to find out what was happening and they really couldn’t care less that my wheels were sitting there for two weeks, the co-op store didn’t even use the courier anymore so they had no idea why the parcel was there!

    Same owners as Morvelo, who have also gone shit since THG took over. Wouldn’t surprise me if they were next.
