Is there a right way to put them on? Looks completely symmetrical except for a decal which is only on one side of the hub. Even looked at the instructions but can’t see anything useful.

    Rim brake, non disc hub..

    I think I knew that 😉

as above – it’s probably more about

    a) directional tyres
    b) brake blocks being bedded into one side of the rim rather than the other.

Its a new wheel, so no tyre or wear or skewer yet. Will just bang it in whichever way then.

Common practice is to build the wheel so that any logo on the hub is readable the right way up when seated on the bike.

    – unless it’s a DT Swiss disk hub 🙄

make sure the rim sticker is readable from the same side as the rear hub. You do have matching rims don’t you?

rim graphics should be readable from the RHS if you want to be pedantic.

Just to let everyone know it’s been done. Whether it’s been done right or not is another matter, I may post pictures later so that I may receive your unquestionable judgement.

Its useful to change the direction every couple of rides so the rim sidewalls wear evenly.

I log how many clockwise and counterclockwise loops I do and rotate the tyres accordingly so the cornering part wears symmetrically.

    Whichever way spins longest.

Some bearing sets will spin better in one direction than the other- when I remember I tend to check the wheel both ways, and go with the direction which spins best. There won’t be much in it, but in some circumstances every bit of help counts.
