Just opened my Pikes to change the seals. Removed grey outer seal to find a thick foam ring instead of a thin foam ring and black inner seal.
My seal kit has a grey outer, foam ring, black inner.

    Anybody else experienced this?

Rockshox changed the seal kits to get rid of the oil seal (black) to reduce stiction. My reba’s and revs didn’t have the black oil seals. Old pikes did, and I junked them – did notice a difference to stiction, much more supple.

Cheers boys, seal kit from Loco so it’ll be right. Stiction thing makes sense though.

I presumed the black, inner seal was why my Pikes lasted longer between services than my 36’s.

Less stiction make them feel alot better, lower services need doing a little more regularly as slightly less ‘sealing’ but worth it in terms of perfromance.

Not exactly, but would help a little.
