*must be somebody you know/knew not a friend of a friends friend – who you never actually saw.

    My example is pretty pathetic:

I went out with one asian girl for a while. Her name was Cam. It was obvious this was an abbreviation. Eventually she told me. Her name was Camelshite.

    Ok.

I know that nobody will believe this, but what I am about to say is true.

This topic comes up occasionally, and until now I have refrained from presenting my contribution for the aforementioned reason that it is unbelievable.

Last year while working at a jobcentre in London I was required to call out the name of a young Vietnamese gentleman who no doubt suffered under the name given to him by his loving parents, that name being…

    Mr Dung Dong.

Let me reiterate, I don't care if you don't believe me. Go and look up Vietnamese names a few keystrokes away and then reconsider your scorn.

It prompted the thought though that common names such as "Dave", "John" and "Anthony" may be obscene in certain parts of the world.

Ex-wife used to work in a bank. Notable customer names that I can remember her telling me about… Iona Gunn, and a Mrs Shyght, or Shyte, not sure how it was spelled, but you get the picture. Made all the worse when she tried to say the customer's name without actually saying 'shite'. The customer apparently just sighed, and said 'its pronounced shite'.

Knew a sales rep Brian Hardon.

No prizes for guessing the knickname we gave him.
