Right then, the right pedal on my rockhopper is clicking and is stiff, it is struggling to rotate thus a nightmare to ride with. Any ideas what I should be looking for when I take it off tomorrow? Does it sound like a new pedal is needed?

Sorry if it seems pretty simple but im bike mech novice.

    Cheers

    what sort of pedal ?

does it look like it might be possible to get at the axle and bearings/bushings ?

Sounds like the bearings in the pedal are borked. Might be possible to re build depending on which pedals they are. If they are the originals then best to just get new as
as prob not a serviceable part.

its the standard flat pedal that comes on the 2012 rockhopper comp, metal alloy flat. Not sure if i can get at the bearings but will have a good look

usually done by pulling off a cap at the outside end of the axle and undoing a retaining bolt – they can be bastards to undo or do up again sometimes due to lack of space to get a socket on properly

Cheers for the responses, will have a butchers tomo and go from there, to be fair I quite fancy a new set of pedals:)
