Are there any differences in the frame between the 08 and 09 Orange 5s?

Apparently they’ll still be made of of iron from old Russian bedsteads, bent into shape with a machine used for making filing cabinets.

They have taken some material out of the swingarm just below the shock mount to reduce weight… That is all…

Don’t you have the 09 RP23 shock as well? (obviously thats not part of the frame 😉 )

Re-profiled swingarm below shock mount, Reynolds tubing and re-profiled downtube with new headtube gusset.

What Nickegg said, RE: downtube – specifically the downtube is skinnier to allow more fork clearance and then gusseted to make up for the smaller weld area – or so that dude from Orange told me and I may have misinterpreted him…

I think the top tube is hydroformed too now.

And to be fair – frame only it’s barely gone up in price – only full build that’s rocketed which is a bit beyond their control.

I have a feeling the pivot point may have got a little closer to the BB too? I think the top tube was hydroformed on the 08?

Which 09 version, there’s been two of those already too. Downtube and swingarm as mentioned above,cable routing along the downtube is also different on the latest ones.
