    Thinking about a couple of nights for a city break for the Mrs and I. Anyone been?

    I’ve been.

    Nice place. Easy access to Auschwitz & Birkenau (sp) and the Salt mine. Recommended if you can avoid the hoards of stag do’s that’ll be going there these days.

    Worth a trip for 3 days.

    I went way back in 95 and enjoyed it as very different to ‘Western Europe’ though it has probably caught up by now.
    Enjoyed visiting the Salt Mines (although I’m sure people on here have berated them for some reason), the castle and town square. Also took the trip over to Auschwitz which I would defo recommend doing.
    Nice compact centre with historic buildings and trams. A ‘proper’ European city.
