Spotted you riding on the road in Barton this moning as I was driving out of the village – on a Marin full suss bike. Big respect – were you heading for the Barton Hills etc – some good climbs and descents…

I figure it’s just as hard one armed as one legged, like the guy who does the TransRockies.

Must require a lot of core strength.

Can you only have one brake then? Or is there a way to control both brakes with one hand?

You can have two brakes and gears controlled with one hand. Mate of mine at Uni used to race DH with this setup, he had a prosthetic left arm which clipped into a mount on the bars! Prett decent rider also, but the moiunt made for some scary crashes…

I’ve just finished setting up a bike for a one armed rider, Avid cable discs with a cable doubler, upside down front shifter, works a treat!

    Pics will be posted later.

Surely not as impressive as the one armed/one legged guy who overtook me and my partner going up the Altura trail near Keswick!
