    So we’re talking 100 miles on-road? One bottle an hour seems right to me, I did roughly that on a 100+ ride off-road, was in the saddle for about 12 hours, with all that fluid I needed quite a lot of comfort breaks, easy up on the deserted trail but that must be tricky on-road. I also had 1 GU gel an hour, they were freebies so thought I’d give them a try, pretty impressed, very sweet, I noticed them wear off rather than kick in, if you know what I mean.

    Yes. I did drink 5 litres of fluid in total. Maybe too much, but would rather have too much then not enough and end up dehydrated

    Are you aware of Hyponatremia?

    As for me, I did 3 hours averaging 30kph on 750ml water and no breakfast.
