Is it possible to fix a rim with a flat spot? It’s otherwise true.

    but if it’s a big flat i think it’s no 🙁

Not really but off road, at least, I rarely find it an issue (assuming disc brakes) unless it’s very flat. Just make sure that the local spokes are still tight.

Beat it into shape with a rock?

Does the tyre still run true – I had a rim with a flat on it but the tyre still ran true so I ignored it until the rim picked up a few more. It was retired with something like 3 dings and 5 buckles inc the big flat spot

I think I’ve seen someone loosen off the spokes and knock one back into a circle. Not done it myself, though if it’s not much out of round it may not create any problems.

You can feel it when you’re riding on the flat, eg fire road/tarmac. It’s quite a large flat spot. :s

Jo, sounds like your rim has had enough and needs to be replaced.

Too much rough stuff, not a good idea at your age.

Cheeky effers! It was a couple of heavy mis-timed hits, I’m usually smooth as a smooth thing :p
