    Director of the Deer Hunter dies at 77. Also directed Heaven’s Gate which I loved and Thunderbolt and Lightfoot which is one of my all time favourite films.

    Thunderbolt and lightfoot. Laying turf in the rain in front of a naked housewife. I was a kid at the time and that bit stuck with me. There was also a big canon in the film 🙂

    I love Heavens Gate! The Deer Hunter is obviously a classic.
