We went on a little trip with my OutLaws on saturday and crossed one of the Swiss lakes.

I’m so used to those crappy fake Steam Boats on the Thames that I assumed the same of this one, with its big flailing paddles and massive speed.

Then I boarded it and was presented with an open engine room that was cleaner and better presented than any museum piece I have ever seen. Bear in mind that this thing was built in 1913 and is used every day as local transport.

    These Swiss eh?

I used to work in the photographic trade years back & remember using one of these (Leica M3) for the first time, it was the first camera I had ever used that felt like a mechanical tool in your hand, totally solid, every setting felt so precise, sadly as a, wet behind the ears darkroom assistant, it took me another 15 years before I could buy a used one for myself 😉

(sorry if this or something similar has been mentioned in this post already not read it all yet, but will do when I get time)

    ^^^^^^ Woah!!

What is that thing….? Have just seen your other post BK43 about your injury.

Does it give you some mobility in your arm until your nerves heal?
My neighbour had some surgery on her arm a while back and had some nerve damage. She mentioned to me the other day that she isn’t getting back use of her hand as quick as she’d hoped. Is this an NHS contraption? What does it do? I might mention this to her as she sounded quite peeved about the loss of mobility and she’d injured her other arm now as it’s taking over for everything she does…
