    Help…..

Presume this is the same on all RC3 cartridges.

Once you remove the gold adjuster on the bottom of the leg, there is a 12mm nut. I have tried to remove the 12mm but the cartridge road is spinning, so I can’t get the nut off.

Anybody else found this problem and any ideas how to get over it?

    Cheers

    Compress fork slightly?

what wysiwyg said – you can use one of those luggage straps or a belt around the fork crown and over the stanchion brace to hold it compressed whilst you turn. Or just put the steerer on the ground and press down on the brace with your foot. Both leave two hands free to do the spannering.

    Compression the fork didn’t help.

So I unscrewed the top cap on the cartridge and held the rod while undoing the nut.

Presumably I can fill up the oil from the top as well, that way I can secure the lower leg bolt first?

Yes, you can refill the oil from the top, but you ideally want to clean out the seal areas too (so you need to remove the foot nut to remove lowers). I do mine with a socket and extended t bar. If you turn the t bar sharply it eventually catches. Bit of a pain mind! Some folk use an impact wrench to do it.
